About Brian

I am originally from Dublin, Ireland and have lived in the United States since 2003 (citizen since 2014), and have been a homeowner on Lawrence St over 14 years, where I live with my wife Hayley and our two sons.

I am running for re-election to the Ward 1 seat as I am strongly committed to

  • Helping Westbrook achieve its full potential, we need to manage the growth of our city in such a way that it includes & benefits all our residents

  • Preserving Westbrook’s identity and ensuring we retain a distinct character and presence within the Greater Portland metro

And two things in particular I feel very strongly about

  • Ensuring Westbrook is an affordable place to live for ALL its residents

  • Balancing that affordability with adequate funding for our School system.

Strong track record of community service & civic participation

  • Public Safety Commission October 2022 to January 2025. I had the privilege of serving on the Commission here in Westbrook. I was a regular participant in the hiring panels and also did a couple of ridealongs so I could understand first hand the challenges and constraints faced by our Dispatch, Fire & Police Departments.

  • Member of the Rotary Club of Portland Sunrise for a decade up to 2022, and held a number of roles including

    • Youth Services Chair for 5 years

    • Treasurer for 4 years

    • Club President for one year

  • Active Board member of the Maine Irish Heritage Center since 2021

Professionally I have worked for 20+ years for FINEOS, a software company focused on the Insurance industry, where I run the largest of our North American Support Teams.I deal with customers on a daily basis and work with them to resolve issues in a cost-effective manner. There’s a significant project management aspect to my role, which has stood to me in terms of understanding the various projects underway in the city currently.
